GREAT THINGS TO DO IN TUCSON.

#13. Mount Lemmon. Named after female explorer Sara Plummer Lemmon. Sara was an equal partner in collecting and researching plant specimens with her husband J. G. Lemmon, but the scientific papers and articles published were credited "J. G. Lemmon & Wife." In the 1880s she got her due when this Catalina peak was named after her. Summer time temperatures are 20 to 30 degrees cooler than Tucson. The mountains have re-opened after the fire that took place a few months ago.

#14. Tucson Museum of Art. Established in 1924, the Museum's holdings include Western, Native American, European, and Contemporary pieces. The recently opened Kasser Family Wing of Latin American Art includes pre-contact and Colonial artworks from Mexico and South America. The Art Museum complex includes the Cordova House, built in the 1840s, which houses the Nacimiento, an elaborate Nativity scene.
